Happy Chinese New Year from WonderMoms.caEveryone knows that when you have a large family there is a greater
possibility of at least one finicky eater in the mix. Well, in my case, I have two. My two oldest kids are very particular
about what we have in the house and what we put in front of them. It really doesn't matter the meal either. Breakfast can
be the wrong cereal, lunch can be the wrong type of dressing on salad or fresh vegetables. Dinner, lets not even get started,
it has been known to be as heated as the Spanish Inquisition.
Our friends at VH Sauces are teaming up with WonderMoms.ca to offer a lucky reader an opportunity to win a
prize pack in celebration of Chinese New Year, "Gong Hei Fard Choy."
Chinese New Year is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. The Chinese
call it the "Spring Festival." This year, Year of the Dragon, they are celebrating the only mythological and "free
spirit" of the Chinese Zodiac. Sure to be a wonderfully colourful exhibition of reds and golds.
We have over the past couple of weeks had the opportunity to
sample some of the VH Sauces with some very great results around the dinner table. There are two that seemed to hit the mark.
The Asian 5 Spice Stir Fry Sauce has worked twice with the girls, while having them assist in making the dinner. They certainly
enjoyed helping mommy and being a part of the preparation. Maybe that was part of the excitement. The other VH Sauce that
was an easy sell was the Sweet & Sour Stir Fry Sauce. All four of the kids enjoyed that one and even asked for more.
With my husband at the table, dinner is always easy, as he loves Chinese and Asian cuisine. I have to thank the VH Sauce
folks for the inspirations around the dinner table. It will be easier from now on. I will surely be trying more of their
sauces, as there are quite a few that seem appealing.
They
also offer a line up of VH Steamers, simply put them in the microwave oven and about 4 minutes later, you are whisked away
to another land far far away. I already have a favourite, the Honey Sesame Chicken. It is very rich in honey flavouring
along with a hint of pineapple. Both of which are my favourites. Another one of my weaknesses is water chestnuts of which
this has plenty. Full meals ready in the time it takes to find the plates and utensils and set up in front of your favourite
show or flick. Designed for the busy mom or dad, for lunch at home or take with to the office.
