CALLING ALL BAKERS!
Chudleigh's Entertainment Farm in Milton is excited to announce the first Chudleigh' s Apple Pie Fest Baking Competition."
Every family has a favourite apple pie recipe and talented baker. With Thanksgiving around the corner we decided to celebrate
both in what we hope will become an annual Chudleigh's event," says Tom Chudleigh, President of Chudleigh's Farm.
The Apple Pie Fest competition will take place on Saturday, October 2nd,
2010, 12pm at Chudleigh's Entertainment Farm.
RULES:
The competition is free to enter and open to the public; however
, professional bakers are ineligible. All bakers must register before September 25 th via email to applepiefest@chudleighs.com
To qualify all Apple pies must be homemade, have at
least a bottom crust and the only fruit it may contain is apples.
Bakers
must arrive at 11:00am on October 2nd to sign‐in with the judging panel and present their pie.
JUDGING:
A
panel of six judges will select the winning pie. The panel will include‐ Tom Chudleigh , President of Chudleigh's Farm,
48 year veteran apple farmer and pie aficionado.
The pies
will be judged on the following categories:
Overall Appearance
‐texture, consistency, appearance before slicing Taste‐ flavour, crust, after taste Creativity‐
originality, and presentation
AWARDS:
1stprize‐ $500 and Chudleigh's Apple Pie Fest Trophy & 2010 Title
2ndprize‐ $200
3rdPrize‐ $100.00
