Sunday mornings are the best, peace and quiet on the streets
with less hustle and bustle. My day started off at the gym, for weeks I have been staring out the window while I am on the
treadmill. Looking (drooling) at the Tim Horton's kitty corner from Snap Fitness where I work out. Watching the line up of
cars idling waiting for their hot coffee and toasted bagels. All this, while I am sweating at the gym, dreaming of honey crullers
and boston cream donuts, which I am not allowing myself to eat anymore.
I have been on a mission to find Equal Sweetener, I have had
great success at other coffee shops like Starbucks last week in Toronto. Today my goal was to enter this sought after Tim
Horton's and look for the sweetener Equal, and inquire about sweeteners. Over the years, Tim Horton's has changed their menu,
adding to it more than coffee and donuts. As many of you know, I am on a weight loss journey and avoiding high calorie items.
This morning I was able to order hot oatmeal and fruit, with a nice cup of decaf tea....."me time" after a hard
work out at the gym. I sat in the corner and soaked up time alone, my healthy start to the day both mentally and physically.
When ordering my tea I asked about options other than white sugar,
do they have raw sugar? Sweeteners, and what types of sweetener? Today at this Burloak location I was informed they only
carried Splenda. I had a little conversation with the employee and he informed me I could ask for brown sugar in my tea, white
sugar or Splenda . I asked if they offered Equal Sweetener, and this is not available at this time. I took my order and a
comment card and enjoyed my "me time", while sitting in Tim Horton's an elderly gentleman was next at the counter
and asked the employee the exact same question that I did. Maybe Tim Horton's should offer more options for sugar substitutes?
This location is a very busy Tim Horton's as it has a drive
thru and close to the QEW, I am not sure how many they have in Burlington. I am positive Oakville has more as the head office
is located there. My question is when Equal is widely available in Canada will the Tim Horton chain offer Equal Sweetener
to their customers?
I am off to Milton this afternoon to visit my brother, as he
has been in the US since July and craving a coffee from Tim's, let's see what I can find at another location. Will it be Equal
this time? On my way to Milton I dropped into my local Starbucks and found this wide arrangement of sugar's and sweeteners.
So apparently Starbucks carries Equal, but it is not offered at Tim Hortons.
