The
daffodil is a symbol of hope in the fight against cancer. It represents the courage of cancer patients, the compassion of
volunteers and the commitment of researchers dedicated to conquering the disease.
Every year since 1957, the Canadian Cancer Society sells Daffodils in April, to help fund cancer
research and provide important information and support services for people in our community living with cancer.
The Daffodil Days- Day Sales Volunteer will:
Role:
Sell daffodils to the general public at various locations in the community during Daffodil Days from Thursday,
March 25 to Sunday, March 28, 2010.
Time Commitment:
Minimum of 3 hours March 25-28, 2010 * Volunteers can determine how many shifts they sign up for. This is a great opportunity
for high school students to earn community service hours.*
Responsibilities:
-Sell
fresh daffodils at a designated location with other volunteers
-Become familiar with the Society's mission and programs information
- Return unsold product and money to the Daffodil site coordinator
-Adhere to all Canadian Cancer Society policies, procedures and standards
Requirements and Qualifications:
-Willingness to speak with various people
-Ability
to make change for daffodil purchases
-Volunteers must
provide their own transportation to and from their designated venue

cause
